Manchester United fans aren’t best pleased with legend Paul Scholes after the former midfielder made less than complimentary comments about Paul Pogba.
Scholes said that if Pogba was to leave Old Trafford, it would not be that big of a loss for the club and that there could be players who can come in and do the same job as the France international (via talkSPORT).
The French midfielder was in good form last season as he scored 16 goals and assisted a further 11 in all competitions, both the highest for the United squad (via Transfermarkt).
Pogba has endured a fractured relationship with some of United faithful and was on the end of verbal abuse from a set of supporters after the Red Devils lost to Cardiff City 2-0 at the end of last season (via The Express).
However, it seems some fans have taken exception to the comments made by a member of the class of ’92 as they took to Twitter to defend their central midfielder.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Old Trafford faithful:
No player on this earth can replicate what Pogba did last season on his own at the position he played.

Scholes would have hated playing in this midfield, leave Pogba alone

Why do these ex-#MUFC players have against Paul Pogba? They all played with quality around them, Scholes had quality all around him but Pogba is all out by himself. He’s carrying our midfield on his back and his departure will be a big loss.
Don’t let Paul Scholes fool you.
