Manchester United: Fans were fuming at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s strange post-match comments

Manchester United appear to be reaching crisis point, and the 1-0 loss at Newcastle on Sunday marked the end to another embarrassing week for the club. Indeed, they had zero shots on target against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday and have since fallen to 12th in the Premier League.

Will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finish the season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

They haven’t won a game away from home since they miraculously knocked out Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in March, and fans are starting to forget the win streak that saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earn the job full-time. Things are looking all too similar to the previous post-Sir Alex Ferguson years, with them scoring just nine goals from eight games so far this season.

After the defeat at St James’ Park, Soskjaer was asked about the solutions to his side’s problems and he said: “Solutions to the problems? That’s the million dollar question. If you only work on sunny days, you’ll never get to your destination.”

As you can imagine, the rather philosophical statement attracted (made to the BBC) plenty of negative replies when it was posted by United news aggregator United Xtra.
