Manchester United: Fans lament potentially missing out on Christian Eriksen - Manchester United

According to a report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen could be on his way to Inter Milan by the end of January, with Antonio Conte’s Serie A title-chasers keen to add attacking midfield flair – resulting in these Man United supporters lamenting the possibility of missing out on a reported target.

Eriksen, who amassed eight goals and 12 assists from midfield last campaign for the North London club (WhoScored), has been touted as a potential target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in their search for an attacking midfielder – with the Danish playmaker bettering the likes of Jesse Lingard and Fred in terms of finding the net and assisting others even during an arguably underwhelming campaign for the 27-year-old.

Eriksen is also averaging a similar pass accuracy rate to that of United’s current crop of central midfielders, with the Spurs man garnering 80.1% when compared to Lingard and Fred’s 87% and 87.7% respectively. As a result, some Red Devils fans have lamented missing out on the ‘steal of the century’ after Spurs reportedly demanded a £17 million fee from Inter Milan – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
