Manchester United: Fans laud Victor Lindelof after he wins Sweden’s Player of the Year award

Manchester United fans have been lauding defender Victor Lindelof after he scooped up Sweden’s Player of the Year award ahead of compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede enjoyed a fine campaign with the north-west club on a personal level last season, with BBC pundit Garth Crooks naming Lindelof as the club’s most improved player back in February.
Who should start at left-back for Manchester United?
Luke Shaw

Brandon Williams

Ashley Young

As for Ibrahimovic, he scored 31 goals across 31 games for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. However, some feel he could be paying the price for playing in a so-called ‘lower profile league’ (via Caught Offside).
Lindelof has enjoyed a decent campaign with the Old Trafford giants this campaign, featuring in three of the six games the club have kept a clean sheet in, including in both Premier League fixtures (via Transfermarkt).
Fans were lauding the 25-year-old as he won the award ahead of the 11-time winner Ibrahimovic as they took to Twitter to react.
