Borussia Dortmund want £87m for Jadon Sancho in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. As expected, many Manchester United fans are raving over the latest transfer news.
Sancho has been the centre of attention over the past couple of years after putting in a string of eye-catching performances for Lucien Favre’s side, with the Red Devils firmly in the hot seat to land the winger before the start of next season.
Speaking to the United Stand, Romano reports Ed Woodward is still in negotiations with the youngster’s agent in spite of the ongoing pandemic, and revealed Dortmund are asking for €100m, which would place him just behind the club’s record signing Paul Pogba.
The football journalist said “‘Borussia Dortmund is so relaxed because they know the player has an important value and they can think, ok, stay here one year more, then next summer, in one year we will see if someone has got the money.”
“But it will be another world, we hope the Coronavirus is not here. So we (Dortmund) can do it in another moment, why do we (Dortmund) have to sell Sancho at a lower price at this moment. Impossible. They will ask for €100mil, and they want €100mil.”
Ever since he arrived at the Signal Iduna Park from Manchester City for just over £7m in 2017, the England international has lit up the Yellow and Black crowds. This season has been a good one for him, scoring 14 goals, producing 15 assists, taking 2 shots per game, averaging 2.3 key passes, and successfully completing 2.6 dribbles on average (via WhoScored).
His heroics have attracted the attention of numerous suitors including bitter rivals Chelsea, although it appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has pipped Frank Lampard to the 20-year-old’s signature.
Unsurprisingly, a whole host of the Old Trafford faithful raved about Romano’s comments online, with one fan tweeting “Ed Woodward with the masterclass,” and another adding the price tag is an “unreal bargain.”
