Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay first broke onto the scene during the latter stages of Jose Mourinho’s Old Trafford reign, with the Portuguese boss, despite now being on the opposing side, still finding extremely kind words to say about his former understudy.
Mourinho’s Spurs were on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat at his former ground, with youngster Marcus Rashford adding to his impressive tally so far this season with a brace to gift the Red Devils a crucial win heading into a pivotal Manchester derby this weekend.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had a pick of fine performers from Wednesday evening, with the likes of Rashford, Fred and Daniel James all putting in brilliant shifts – but Mourinho’s admiration has been directed entirely towards McTominay – with the Champions League-winning coach hailing his ‘dominant’ showing (via Metro).
As a result, supporters have taken to Twitter in awe of the comments towards the Scottish international.
Here’s what they had to say.
Still Jose’s boy, always will be. Thanks for bringing him up for us, Jose!
