Manchester United fans react on Twitter as Romelu Lukaku linked with Inter move

The Belgian striker could be on his way out of Old Trafford

It’s fair to say Romelu Lukaku hasn’t exactly enjoyed the best of times since joining Manchester United, despite scoring 15 goals in the season just gone. The Belgian forward has struggled to kick on from his time at Everton, and has failed to shake off the notorious tag of ‘flat-track bully’. With Marcus Rashford seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order in the eyes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lukaku’s time at Old Trafford might be over sooner rather than later. And according to ESPN, new Inter boss Antonio Conte wants to make the 26-year-old his first signing in charge of the club this summer.

The striker has managed just 15 goals in 45 appearances this season across all competitions and has come under heavy criticism from many of his own fans. Upon hearing the news that the former Chelsea star could be headed for a move to the Nerazzurri, some United fans took to social media to express their relief and satisfaction that Lukaku could finally be set to depart.

Indeed, Red Devils supporters even sought to ‘thank’ their Italian counterparts for taking the Belgian international off their hands, with some insisting that they would drive Lukaku all the way to the San Siro to make sure he leaves.
