According to a report from journalist Nicolo Schira, Manchester United could complete a deal for Sporting Lisbon sensation Bruno Fernandes very soon as the club enter 'advanced talks' to sign the playmaker - leaving these United supporters on the edge of their seats as they await confirmation over the 25-year-old's potential deal.

Fernandes, who has racked up 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this campaign for the Portuguese giants so far this season (Transfermarkt), has reportedly been on United's radar since last summer as they search for a potent attacking midfielder, and Schira claims: "All that's left are the bonuses and which players (Rojo? Pereira?) will be included in the deal."

The transfer saga to bring Fernandes to Old Trafford has been a long one for United supporters to endure, but if these reports are to be believed, they could be inches away from landing their man. Promisingly, when compared to the Red Devils' current midfielders, the stats just don't compare - with Fernandes eclipsing both Fred and Jesse Lingard in terms of goals and assists.

The only positive numbers in the current United duo's favour appear to be pass accuracy, with Lingard and the Brazilian averaging 87% and 87.7% in that regard compared to the rumoured signing's 77.2%, as per WhoScored.com.

However, with some United supporters hesitant to believe the hype surrounding a potential deal whilst others appear to be excited, there is a plethora of mixed reaction to Fernandes updates. Here's how fans responded on social media.
