A report in the Mirror claims Manchester United defender Phil Jones is wanted by Newcastle United and West Ham. Predictably loads of Red Devils have reacted to the transfer link online.
Jones has struggled to gain a place in the starting lineup under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is reportedly considered to be surplus to requirements. The club are willing to let the centre-back leave for around £12m in the summer.
The 28-year-old has continued to fall down the pecking order and is currently behind club captain Harry Maguire and first-team regulars Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly. Jones has shockingly only made two appearances in the Premier League all season and is now open to a move to gain himself some guaranteed game time (Transfermarkt).
After arriving at Old Trafford amid great fanfare from Blackburn in 2011, the former England international has played in 224 games in total for United, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Former defensive stalwart Steve Bruce is interested in signing Jones due to his experience at the top level but the Magpies head coach will face stiff competition from Hammers manager David Moyes.
Lots of fans have tweeted their opinions with one branding the defender as a “clumsy oaf.”

Jones has been top of my ‘out the door’ list since 2014. When he goes, I’ll be going on the beer for a week.😂
