Although Henderson has impressed between the sticks for Chris Wilder’s side, the Red Devils are not looking to bring him back to Old Trafford.
Sources told football reporter Mike McGrath the Blades are confident Henderson will play a full part in the remaining fixtures to come.
The 23-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Bramall Lane, helping Wilder’s men get promoted from the Championship, and putting in a string of eye-catching performances as the South Yorkshire outfit have defied the odds to charge up the Premier League table this season.
He has played in 27 games in the English top flight, keeping 10 clean sheets, and conceding only 22 goals so far (Transfermarkt).
In comparison, Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice keeper David de Gea has made 29 appearances for United, saving just 8 clean sheets, and letting 30 goals at the time of writing (Transfermarkt).
However, it makes sense for Henderson to complete the remainder of the campaign in Yorkshire, as it will only serve to benefit his parent club in the long-term. Indeed, he will gain valuable experience if he continues to play an instrumental part in the Blades’ challenge for European football in the coming weeks.
Unsurprisingly, many United fans reacted to the latest transfer news, with one fan tweeting “this is a mistake.”

Very sportsmanlike, if only Ighalo’s parent club had those morals.
