Responding to quotes via the Daily Mirror, Manchester United fans have been left appalled by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s recent comments over not being able to play like bitter rivals Manchester City – somewhat echoing former boss David Moyes’ sentiments from the 2013/2014 season.
Speaking before United’s 2-0 victory at Burnley, with goals coming from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at the latter stages of each half, Solskjaer hinted that his side cannot replicate City’s passing style of play – hoping that they may do in future.
The Red Devils were drawn against their cross-town rivals in the Carabao Cup semi-final draw and have already beaten them once this season – heroically taking the bragging rights in a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.
However, the Norwegian manager still respects the Sky Blues’ style of play and appears to admire their football – leading some United fans to criticise the boss’ comments.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Basically what Moyes said.
