Paul Scholes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have gone down as club legends following their heroics in a Manchester United shirt, with the latter scoring that winning goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final back in 1999, completing an historic treble. Supporters, however, have now swiped at Scholes following his odd comparison with another more successful manager.
The English midfielder also wrote his name into the history books at Old Trafford after helping guide the club to 11 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and two European Cups in the span of 708 overall appearances for the Red Devils, as per Transfermarkt.
Should Manchester United ditch Solskjaer for Pochettino?
However, his latest comments on former teammate Solskjaer have somewhat befuddled some supporters – with the 45-year-old making a Jurgen Klopp comparison to describe his tenure so far.
Speaking to Sky Sports via the MEN [16:48], Scholes explained that Klopp also needed time to work his plan and eventually challenge for titles after a difficult start – with him expecting Solskjaer to potentially do the same thing.
As a result, supporters have fired back on social media, here’s what they had to say.
Can’t criticise their mate apparently! living in denial

Other managers focus on tactics, shape & systems. ole & phelan spend time watching 1999 videos, reading the United way manual, testing players for DNA, watching players in the academy & dreaming up ways to turn Rashford to new Ronaldo. by xMas utd will be on relegation zone.

Klopp has already proved his managerial quality in Germany with titles and Champions League performance with Dortmund. Even if Solskjaer won ten titles with Molde, nobody cares.
