According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has been made a ‘prime attacking target’ for the summer transfer window – prompting some Man United supporters to worry over potentially missing out on rumoured target Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes, who has amassed a brilliant 15 goals and 13 assists across all competitions this season in Portugal for Sporting Lisbon (tTansfermarkt), has been at the centre of a potential pending move to Old Trafford – with the two clubs reportedly holding ‘face to face’ talks as per the BBC.
However, with this report from the MEN indicating that United will target Maddison for a summer move, supporters have wondered where the club’s priorities truly lie.
When comparing the two midfielders, it appears the Englishman trumps Fernandes in terms of pass accuracy – with Maddison averaging an 82.9% success rate in the Premier League this season, as per WhoScored.com. However, the Portuguese playmaker has registered more shots per game whilst also netting eight goals and assisting seven others in the league.
As a result, these United supporters fear missing out on the 25-year-old Portugal man – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
In other words, Bruno isn’t coming. Summer window all over again…
