Harry Maguire has heaped plenty of praise on Marcus Rashford, as per an interview featured on the club’s official website.
Maguire revealed his Manchester United teammate is the most talented player he has ever played with. This is quite some statement, given the fact the defender has played alongside the likes of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and England duo Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling.
Speaking to the UTD Podcast, the club captain admitted “Marcus is there and he battles through every game. Obviously he’s had a bad injury but he’s battling hard to get back. He very rarely misses games.
He’s always wanting to make himself available. I think you can see around the place, on and off the field as well, he’s excellent with his charity work, which is great to see.
He added: “On the pitch, like I said, he’s amazed me. He’s the most talented player I’ve ever played with.”
The Red Devils academy graduate has been in electric form this season, scoring 14 goals in only 22 appearances in the Premier League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, taking 3.4 shots per game, averaging 1.1 key passes, and completing at least two dribbles on average (WhoScored). His current market value is priced at £57.6m via Transfermarkt.
Ever since arriving at Old Trafford from Leicester City for £78.3m last summer, Maguire has really led from the back, making an impressive 4.6 clearances per game, attemping 1.8 interceptions, and registering at least one tackle on average in the English top flight (WhoScored). He was handed the captain’s armband on a permanent basis after Ashley Young left the Theatre of Dreams.
