Manchester United target Jadon Sancho is ready to leave Borussia Dortmund to take up a new challenge, according to the Daily Mail.
The ex-Man City youth prospect shone in Germany last season, but the Mail believes a tough start to this campaign has meant he wants to leave this summer, as the number of interested clubs grow.
The report says a number of incidents this season have left the Englishman “unsettled and weighing up his future”.
It comes less than two weeks after German sports reporter Raphael Honigstein said Sancho is United’s priority this summer, during a Q&A on The Athletic.
The story also notes how the Mail believes Liverpool and interested, and they also reported earlier this month that Real Madrid have revived their interest in the 19-year-old, after wanting him when he was on the brink of leaving City in 2017.
This season has seen Sancho become a controversial figure at Dortmund, with him being fined £86,000 and dropped after returning from international duty late in October.
The Mail says he’s since had to take extra training alone on a number of occasions, and he was even substituted just 36 minutes into his side’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich on Saturday after getting injured.
The report notes that Dortmund were preparing for his exit in August and had already begun searching for a replacement, but a deal to take him away from the club for around £100m didn’t materialise.
Sancho has proved he has the ability to become one of the best wingers in the world, considering last season he scored 12 goals and made 14 assists from 34 appearances in the Bundesliga.
At such a young age, he became vital to their final league position of second, playing in every single game, but this term, the attitude issues that saw him leave Man City have reared their ugly head again.
Despite having scored four times and assisted six so far this season, the question marks over Sancho’s attitude mean it’d be a huge risk for United to take him if he decides to force a move back to Manchester.
In the short-term, he would be an incredible signing, but he could grow tired of the club just like he did at Man City and like he seems to be doing at Dortmund.
Would Jadon Sancho be a massive upgrade on Daniel James?
No, not for £100m
