Manchester United: Lautaro Martinez transfer links have supporters intrigued despite £94 million release clause

According to a report from The Times, Manchester United have enquired about the availability of reported target Lautaro Martinez as they search for a permanent striking option – but the club have since gone on to rule out a move due to the player’s £94 million release clause.
Martinez, who has scored 25 goals and assisted five others in 62 appearances overall for Inter Milan (Transfermarkt), is seen as a striking alternative that could potentially fill the void left by natural striker Romelu Lukaku’s departure to the Nerazzurri last summer. In attempting to cope with Marcus Rashford’s injury, United opted to sign former Watford striker Odion Ighalo on loan until the end of the season, but that hasn’t stopped them enquiring over potential future options who could sign on a permanent basis. However, due to the Argentine’s hefty £94 million release clause, this report states that it is unlikely they will pursue Martinez any further despite the wishes of supporters.
One fan even labelled the 22-year-old ‘Suarez no:2‘ following the rumours, with Martinez averaging more shots per game (4.3) than the Uruguayan this season whilst returning the same amount of league goals (11), as per WhoScored.com. However, given the fact that Suarez’s best season to date saw him bag an incredible 40 strikes in 35 La Liga outings during 2015/16, he may have some way to go in surpassing the ex-Liverpool man.
Nonetheless, these United supporters feel they should pursue a deal for Martinez despite the large price tag – find all of their best comments from Twitter down below.

please just pay it, if Joao Felix is £100m+ this guy is absolutely worth it. Perfect for the Premier League and is far better than Martial.
