Manchester United midfielder set to depart during the summer, would consider new contract under new management

carrickManchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is waiting to see who the club’s manager will be for next season before deciding whether to commit his future to the Premier League giants.

The veteran midfielder is out of contract during the summer and with no talks forthcoming he is set to entertain offers from other clubs, with Everton, Stoke City and West Ham United all keen on securing the player.

Our landlord has spotted an article in the Daily Star however that claims Carrick would be willing to stick around Old Trafford, if Jose Mourinho is handed the manager’s job following Saturday’s FA Cup Final.

Of course the scenario would depend on whether or not the former Chelsea boss wants to keep Carrick at the club, but the news does offer another indication that senior players at the Red Devils are unhappy with Dutch boss Louis van Gaal.

One United fan is chatting with the landlord here in the Transfer Tavern and he thinks that United would be silly to let Carrick go, stating that he still has a role to play at the club with the younger players.

Manchester United fans, should Carrick stay or go? Which defensive midfielder would you like to see replace Carrick at the club?
