Mino Raiola continues to throw doubt regarding Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United this summer.
The super-agent was quoted by Spanish media publication Marca recently suggesting that as long as the transfer window remained open, the possibility of the midfielder leaving Old Trafford remains firmly on the table.
“There’s still nothing,” he said when questioned about Real Madrid’s alleged interest in the World Cup winner.
“Staying at Manchester United? I live my life day by day, we’ll see what happens. The end of this story hasn’t been written. We’re here today, I don’t know about tomorrow.”
Pogba was a largely influential figure for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team last season, but it was not a campaign that appeared to have won him many plaudits. Despite managing to get 13 goals in his 35 Premier League matches last season and coming away with figures such as 3 shots on average, 1.6 key passes and 2 fouls drawn per game, the 26-year-old continued to come in for large amounts of criticism throughout the campaign.
Speaking on a promotional tour in Tokyo last month (via The Sun), Pogba said: “Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well.
“For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great, some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.
“I am thinking of this – to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
Raiola has seemingly been a thorn in Manchester United’s side for a while, with Sir Alex Ferguson openly describing the agent with rather unpleasant words (Independent).
The agent has been considered a rather controversial figure in the past and has also been handed a worldwide three-month ban from all football activities by Fifa in May, but that has since been put on hold as the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld his appeal against the sanction (Guardian).
The Guardian recently suggested it was more-than-likely that Pogba would be remaining at Old Trafford beyond the summer, but it would not be a surprise if Raiola tries to engineer a move before the 8 August deadline.
