Manchester United have rediscovered themselves thanks to the arrival of new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, something that leaves them with a chance at top four again this season.
Their immense run under the guidance of their hero has caught the eye of many in football but it should come as no surprise judging by the array of talent Manchester United are blessed with.
Nevertheless, the caretaker manager has done a fine job thus far, and those fans are hoping it continues.
Having not signed a single player in the January transfer window, Manchester United – regardless of whether they finish in the top four or not this season – have to spend big in the summer.
For a Manchester United team, too many positions are weak and need improving on, none more so than the centre-back role – which Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez could easily solve.
Gimenez, (who is valued at £45 million on Transfermarkt) is a top-quality defender that would improve Manchester United so much and, alone, could push through their title aspirations next campaign.
The 24-year-old already has so much experience playing at the top level for his country Uruguay and his club Atletico Madrid, where he helps form one of the best defences in Europe.
Indeed, there would be no concern about whether he would fit in or not, seeing as he is far better than the options Manchester United currently have.
Gimenez has played 17 times this season, helping to provide one goal and more importantly keeping eight clean-sheets.
Of course, that wasn’t solely down to Jose Gimenez, Atletico Madrid’s defence is very tight-knit but with great organisational skills and ability, the 24-year-old could really get United’s back-line in-line and back performing to their best standard.
