Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to what they hope will be a title-winning campaign.
The men from Old Trafford have had a decent summer in terms of signings and now Jose Mourinho will be aiming to do what he was tasked with when he arrived – winning the league.
Of course, that is easier said than done with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City around but it certainly appears as though the club is preparing itself to be as strong as possible.
Indeed, according to The Express, United have opened talks with midfielder Ander Herrera over signing a new deal with the aim of fending off interest from Barcelona.
The midfielder was a key part of United’s success last season as they won two major trophies and the plan this time around is to surely have him at the heart of a league winning midfield.
Certainly, he seems settled enough at the club right now and so here by the bar our United fans are confident he’ll be staying put – as is our landlord:
Ander proved himself to be one of United’s key players last season as he battled away in the middle of the pitch.
Whilst his technical ability on the ball is already well known from his days at Bilbao it’s his tenacity and drive that has really seen him adapt to the Premier League well.
Last season he really came of age at the top level, then, and he’s surely going to be at the club a long time if he puts pen to paper.
