Jude Bellingham is expected to join Manchester United instead of Borussia Dortmund in the summer, according to Bleacher Report.
Football insider Dean Jones believes that Bellingham will choose to move to Old Trafford, despite the fact that Dortmund have made an intriguing offer.
Writing in a fan Q&A, the journalist commented “BVB have given him an interesting option to consider, but all the signs right now suggest he’s going to opt for Old Trafford.”
The 16-year-old has attracted a lot of attention from a number of leading European giants following his impressive debut season in the Championship. Bellingham has played in 32 games for Pep Clotet’s Birmingham City in the English second division, scoring 4 goals, producing 2 assists, taking 1.2 shots per game, averaging 0.7 key passes, and successfully completing at least 1.1. dribbles on average (via WhoScored). His current market value is estimated at £9.9m via Transfermarkt.
Although initial reports hinted the Bundesliga side had edged out their British rivals in the two-legged race for the Blues academy graduate, it seems Ed Woodward has gained the upper hand in negotiations for the highly-touted teenager.
Right now, it looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be welcoming Bellingham and his fellow countryman Jadon Sancho to the Theatre of Dreams before next season kicks off.
Naturally, loads of Red Devils gushed over the reporter’s thoughts on social media, with one delighted fan tweeting “Ed Woodward masterclass summer 2020” at the news.
