Plenty of Manchester United supporters have responded to a tweet from the club's official Twitter account showing footage of an iconic goal from Eric Cantona, as Tuesday marked 24 years since his powerful strike past Ian Walker in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

Cantona is famous for his arrogance on the pitch and knack for sublime finishes, and his goal against Tottenham Hotspur was no exception.

United posted a video of the Frenchman's goal in the second half, an effort that secured a vital three points for the Manchester club. Cantona picked up the football just shy of the centre circle, before going on a marauding solo run, and lashed the ball past the helpless Spurs keeper. Sir Alex Ferguson's side went on to lift the trophy for the third time at the end of the season.

The French forward bagged 70 goals and created 56 assists in 156 appearances in the English top flight under Fergie (via the Premier League website), and he will always enjoy a cult-hero status with the Red Devils fan base. One supporter even dubbed him a "great magician" whilst another reiterated Cantona is an "absolute legend."
