The Sun reports Birmingham City prospect Jude Bellingham was spotted at Carrington on Monday ahead of an expected move to Manchester this summer.
Bellingham has made 32 appearances for the Blues in the Championship this season, scoring 4 goals and creating 3 assists. The highly-touted 16-year-old’s market value sits at £10.8m (Transfermarkt).
The England U-17 international has won 3 caps for the development squad, scoring 2 goals, and is clearly one to watch for the future.
Bellingham is already his team’s youngest record goalscorer and broke the 49-year-old record set by Birmingham legend Trevor Francis to become the club’s youngest first-team appearance maker. Francis became Britain’s first £1m transfer after joining Nottingham City from the Blues (The Sun).
The centre-midfielder has been linked with a number of other European clubs including Borussia Dortmund (via Bild).
Understandably some United fans are concerned the Red Devils might miss out on Bellingham after the club failed to sign Erling Braut Haaland in January.
However it is understood that Solskjaer’s side are in pole position to sign the talented youngster. With reports lingering that United are the front-runners to welcome teenage sensation Jadon Sancho back to the Premier League, this latest acquisition would hint towards the board’s new change of transfer policy towards the youth.
