Lots of Manchester United fans have been reacting to club legend Rio Ferdinand’s latest comments on Aaron Wan-Bissaka during an Instagram livestream.
Speaking in a fan Q&A, Ferdinand said “If you moulded them two players together, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Trent Alexander-Arnold, you’ve got the best player.”
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka one-versus-one, I’ve seen [Raheem] Sterling play against him and Sterling rinses everybody, he finds it hard against Wan-Bissaka.”
“One-versus-one he will match you physically, he will run with you, he will slide on the floor if you’re getting away from him a little bit more and he has to go into overdrive.”
The former England international concluded “he can cover people, unbelievable. He could play right side of a back three at Man United if they wanted to, I think he’d be brilliant there.” Wan-Bissaka has played in 26 games in the Premier League for the Red Devils this season, making 3.8 tackles per game, averaging 2 interceptions, and completing 1.9 clearances on average (WhoScored).
Since moving to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace last summer for £49.5m, the 22-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, providing 2 assists. His current market value is estimated at £36m via Transfermarkt.
Wan-Bissaka put in an impressive performance during the 2-0 victory over derby rivals Manchester City, passing 3 long balls, successfully completing 4 dribble attempts, and winning a staggering 12 out of 13 ground duels (SofaScore).
As expected many supporters have gushed over Ferdinand’s high praise of the talented youngster on Twitter, with one fan dubbing the defender a “beast.” Another remarked he is a “top top signing!”

It’s easier to learn to attack than to learn to defend. Awb is clear

Dw real United fans know awb is already decent at attacking. Just wait a few more years for him to take it to the next level. We won’t need trent

Trent overated. Cross merchant. Bissaka gonna skin him in the next couple of years. That drive he did against City on the right wing… Trent can wish that
