Many Manchester United fans have been reflecting on David Moyes’ infamous time in charge of the club, as Wednesday marked six years to the day since he was sacked by the board.
Popular fan site UtdReport posted an edited graphic of Moyes on Twitter, with the image clearly referencing the iconic Thanos ‘snap’ from the Marvel movies.
After being appointed Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor with the help of the great man himself, it is fair to say the Scotsman had quite big shoes to fill, and he failed to live up to the lofty expectations prior to his arrival. The 56-year-old managed 51 games in total, winning 26 and losing 15 matches, which proved to be the final straw (Transfermarkt).
Following his departure from Old Trafford, Moyes took up an ill-fated position at La Liga side Real Sociedad, before ending up back in the Premier League with West Ham United.
Unsurprisingly, it seems several Red Devils gleefully remembered his “fantastic” sacking, with one supporter dubbing the anniversary as the “best decision the club made.”

Only time I’ve celebrated a manager being sacked, had a bit more respect for Van Gaal and Mourinho
