Many Manchester United fans have reacted to the news that the Premier League is working on plans to resume the season, according to The Times.
Football across the country is currently suspended in the wake of the ongoing pandemic, and clubs have been trying to keep supporters entertained nationwide with a deluge of funny posts and montages, although Red Devils will be anxious to return to Old Trafford as soon as possible, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side firmly in the chase for coveted Champions League football.
The Premier League has come up with a scheme dubbed ‘Project Restart,’ with the idea to bring the beautiful game back behind closed doors at approved stadiums when the British government gives the go-ahead for football to return.
Matches will take place in the week commencing June 8th, and authorities estimate a minimum of 300 people will be needed to keep things fully operational at each match, via the Daily Mail.
Popular fan site UtdReport shared the news on Twitter, prompting furious responses from the United faithful. Several fans labelled the decision “disgraceful” while another blasted the announcement as a “joke.”
Take a look at some of the angry reactions down below…
As much as I want football back I’m not seeing how it can be done safely. Then you’ll get a lot of people out having a kick about as if it’s ok for that to be allowed others will say well they do it why can’t we
