Manchester United: Red Devils fans wish Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson happy birthday - Manchester United

Many Red Devils fans have wished Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson a happy birthday, with some reacting to a post from Manchester United’s official Twitter account.

Henderson has spent the past two seasons on loan at the Blades, helping Sheffield get promoted, and mount a surprising challenge for European football this season. The Manchester United youth product has continued to impress during his time at Bramall Lane, playing 27 games in the Premier League, keeping 10 clean sheets and only conceding 22 goals so far. His market value stands at £16.2m (Transfermarkt).

In contrast, first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea has featured in 29 games in the English top-flight, conceding 30 goals and keeping just 8 clean sheets (Transfermarkt).

The Spaniard has made a series of high-profile mistakes over the course of the latest campaign, including a calamitous error against Everton earlier this month.

Henderson’s string of impressive performances have earned the youngster plenty of high praise from the Old Trafford faithful, with several fans insisting the 23-year-old should replace de Gea as the number one between the sticks next season. One supporter even added Henderson “reminds me of Peter Schmeichel.”
