Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going quickly this season with them hosting West Ham on the opening day.
The men from Old Trafford are going to be one of the sides battling for the Premier League title this season – of that there can be little doubt – and so a good start against the Hammers is to be expected.
For sure, the fans will be eager to see what their new players look like in their side with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic set to start whilst the spending for the summer might not be over yet.
Indeed, according to the Manchester Evening News – via Sportsmole – United are ready to try and push for Ivan Perisic again.
The Inter Milan winger has been linked with United for some time but it did look as though the move was not going to happen with things falling quiet in recent weeks.
However, it seems the story has been revived and now it remains to be seen whether or not the move ends up happening.
Perisic is a very direct winger and if United could get him they’d be signing a player that they don’t really have at the club right now.
For sure, Jose Mourinho likes players that are going to deliver crosses and get to the byline and, with a target man in Romelu Lukaku up front, signing Perisic would seem to make a lot of sense.
