Robbie Savage joined Emma Jones on BBC's 5Live606 podcast and discussed Manchester United and their aspirations to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Of course, the 24-year-old midfielder has recently been reported by the Manchester Evening News as telling friends he'd be open to a move to Old Trafford should he leave the Villans behind after a strong campaign for his beloved boyhood club since winning promotion from the Championship. Indeed, Savage truly believes that there is a place for the star in the Red Devils' midfield as they have enough discipline to have someone of his creativity and risk-taking in tow.

Here's what he said for BBC's 5Live606 podcast (23/2/2020): "I think he'd fit into Manchester United perfectly because what Man United have to do in the final third is take risks. I think they've got enough discipline if they play the 4-2-3-1 or if they play 4-3-3. There's enough discipline there with the holding midfielder and the back four. So I think he'd be perfect for Manchester because a Manchester United player has to take risks in the final third."

Looking at Grealish's stats for the ongoing campaign, he certainly looks like a player who's capable and willing to take those risks Savage has emphasised on the podcast. The midfielder is averaging 2.8 key passes and 2.2 dribbles per game for Aston Villa and that could be a big indication of his attacking impetus and a rather creative style of play.

And since he can boast with seven goals and six assists in the Premier League so far, it's pretty safe to say that the risks he's been taking have been paying off so far. So, alongside the likes of Scott McTominay or Fred, who both average over 2 tackles per game (all stats via WhoScored), Savage could be right in that Grealish would have a licence to roam as his teammates lean more towards the defensive side of the game.
