Manchester United know what is on the line during the January transfer window as with the right signings, they have the chance to move closer and closer to the top four.
It could be a long shot but Manchester United’s recent form will suggest that they’re on the rise again since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has arrived and calmed things down.
Yet still, the Red Devils remain six points away from the top four and with a lot of work to do, they need to continue this brilliant patch of form for the rest of the season as well.
To help their stabilising form, they need a calm and composed figure in the centre of defence, namely a player of Niklas Stark’s quality.
The former German U21 star, (who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt) could really blossom with a big move to Manchester United.
Having played his part in 12 appearances so far this season, Stark has been a massive reason as to why Hertha Berlin were able to keep five clean-sheets during that time.
He is an imposing defensive figure and a player who would rather pass his way out of defence, the more modern type of centre-back.
Manchester United have often looked vulnerable in defence, which will be cause for concern and an issue they quickly wish to resolve.
Niklas Stark would definitely be considered a problem solver for the Red Devils and if he was able to perform up to the levels he has been playing at for Hertha Berlin, United would have themselves a steal.
To boost their chances at a top four finish, signing a centre-back much be their top priority as a player like Niklas Stark would help their case massively.
