Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has enjoyed a successful spell since taking over from Jose Mourinho. Understandably, that has to be the understatement of the year! What. A. Transformation.
During his extremely eventful time in what was a previously cursed Old Trafford dugout, the Norwegian hasn’t been afraid to chop and change his matchday squads. Whether it be through injury or just a small tactical change, Ole hasn’t put a foot wrong. Now, after completing what looked to be the impossible task on Wednesday night, Ole and his staff will be hoping for more of the same against Arsenal in a few hours time.
Start with Dalot
Diogo Dalot has been essentially used from the bench this season for the Norwegian, however when bought on, Dalot brings a whole new dynamic to the Manchester United squad. Indeed, his youth, power and pace can prove to be pivotal against a current makeshift Arsenal defence.
Being used in a more advanced position of late, it could be argued that Dalot can bring more to the attacking side of the game than a player like Fred on the right-hand side of a midfield three.
Still failing to hit any type of consistent form for the Red Devils, Fred is swiftly becoming surplus to requirements at the Theatre of Dreams. The Brazilian’s last 90 minutes came against Crystal Palace where, even in a dominant Manchester United win, he looked to be a shadow of the game.
Of course, after the midweek heroics of all the players against PSG, Ole will find it hard to pick a starting eleven. With this given, the form of each player must be taken into account and it would seem wiser for the manager to pick an inform Dalot over an out of sorts Fred, especially when wanting to disrupt any type of Arsenal play.
