Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha could be a Newcastle United player before the end of January according to The Evening Chronicle. The 19 year old has also been linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United report TutterMercatoWeb.
Zaha, twice capped for England at U-19 level, has caught the attention of a number of top flight clubs following some eye-catching performances in the Carling Cup.
Zaha has been ever-present for Crystal Palace over the last two seasons, making 65 appearances in The Championship. He was one of the few shining lights in a miserable 2010-2011 campaign that saw The Eagles narrowly avoid relegation. This didn’t go unnoticed, Zaha was crowned Crystal Palace’s Young Player of The Year in 2011.
It looks as though Zaha could be following Papiss Cissé as Alan Pardew’s second January signing. According to The Evening Chronicle’s report, Crystal Palace may be willing to let Zaha go due to the club’s poor financial situation.
However, the article goes on to say Newcastle aren’t the only ones interested, with Liverpool and Manchester United also being linked with a move for the promising youngster.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Crystal Palace captain Paddy McCarthy has urged Zaha to stay put, and not follow the example of ex-Palace players John Bostock and Wayne Routledge, who he thinks left the club too early.
