The Manchester Untied supporting locals in the Transfer Tavern have become somewhat accustomed to losing out on big name targets.

The likes of Renato Sanches and Mats Hummels were both believed to have been of major interest to those at Old Trafford, only to join Bayern Munich instead.

Now, another European giant could be about to deliver a major blow to the Red Devils.

According to the Daily Mail, Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with Jose Mourinho about the possibility of seeing the 53-year old takeover in the French capital.

Though current boss Laurent Blanc only signed a new deal recently, the exit in the Champions League to Manchester City in the quarter-finals is understood to have cast his future into doubt.

Les Parisians are believed to view now as the ideal time to appoint the former Real Madrid coach at the helm as they bid to seek improvement on the continental stage.

He has been strongly linked with the Old Trafford post ever since he was infamously axed by Chelsea back in December, though no agreement is thought to be in place between the two.

Have Man United missed the boat of Mourinho now?
