Mourinho asks Woodward to seal multi-million January Man United deal

There appear to be signs of life under Jose Mourinho right now at Manchester United, much to the delight of the long-suffering Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern.

While the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is yet to fully convince those at Old Trafford, a recent run of good form has at least given the United supporting punters something to shout about.

So reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting the club were prepared to make another huge money transfer move have come as further delight to those drinkers.

They claim United HAVE made a whopping £38m bid for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof ahead of the January transfer window.

The Swede has proved thoroughly impressive in the Portuguese capital of late and Mourinho is thought to have asked Ed Woodward to try and push through a deal next month.

Key defender Eric Bailly will presumably depart for the AFCON, meaning the 22-year-old Sweden international’s signing could become a priority.

The bid is understood to have been £34m up front, potentially making him one of the most expensive defenders ever, with a further £4m coming through incentive-based addons.

Would Lindelof improve United’s backline? Let us know below…
