Though there’s been a distinct air of change amongst the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern ever since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, few of them have been able to forget the Louis van Gaal era so easily.
Clearly, the club have moved on, but the disappointing tenure the Dutchman had at the Theatre of Dreams shows no signs of fading away so easily.
That’s because, according to the Daily Record, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is still fuming at his predecessor over the botched attempts to land Renato Sanches.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with the Portuguese star for a number of months, only to see him join Bayern Munich.
After seeing him star for the EURO 2016 winners, the 53-year old is angry at the club’s botched attempts to lure him to the Theatre of Dreams, missing out on one of the continent’s most prodigious talents.
How impressed were you by Sanches at the Euros?
