Romelu Lukaku looks like being the star man for Manchester United for years to come, having bagged a brace on his Premier League debut at Old Trafford.
Indeed, the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are still cheering his name and look forward to many more goals being plundered in the years to come.
Still, reports from the Independent hinting at a return for another marquee marksmen have gone down insanely well amongst our resident Red Devils today. They claim talks are continuing between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the club over the idea of a deal upon his recovery from a serious injury.
The Swedish superstar is understood to be keen on playing again and Jose Mourinho reportedly sees him as a similar figure to Didier Drogba, who he brought back to Chelsea in a similar role during his title winning season in west London during 2014/15.
The notion of handing the former Barcelona and AC Milan superstar a coaching role is believed to have been discussed, with the Portuguese said to view him as someone to bridge the gap between manager and players.
His presence at the club’s training ground is thought to be valued by Mourinho and, as you can imagine, this has gone down very well amongst our United-mad punters.
Signing Ibrahimovic again can only be a good thing. The Swede doesn’t have to lead the line with Lukaku knocking about, so can provide experience and expertise as and when, as well as giving the squad an almighty boost.
