Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are wondering what’s happened to Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
After a slow start by the Armenian to his United career, it seemed to our punters that he had turned the corner and the tough love shown by Jose Mourinho early on in that season had worked. Again, this season he started off by playing some scintillating football but slowly he started to decline, to the point in recent weeks he’s gone missing altogether.
In an up and down 18 months already, our barman thinks Mourinho’s patience be wearing thin with the attacking midfielder, who seems to need a constant arm around his shoulder. With a January window approaching, and United’s midfield in need of some strengthening, could Mkhitaryan’s short United career be over before it’s properly started?
The Portuguese boss may look to find someone who will be a little more consistent, especially as they aim to fight on all four fronts this season, and every man is in need when available to aid the team.
So, we’re asking United fans, should Mourinho stick with Mkhitaryan, or replace him as soon as possible?
