Mourinho needs to win the league and signing £45m-rated star would help Man United do that

The Manchester United fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are hoping that a big transfer window will give them a much greater chance of reaching success come next season.

It simply wasn’t meant to be for Jose Mourinho and his side who were 2nd to rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, which therefore sparks the need for the Red Devils to capture some real talent this summer so they don’t have to be in the Citizens’ shadow for the foreseeable future. One player who would have a massive impact on that is Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who is valued at £45m according to Transfermarkt.

The 25-year-old has been constantly a part of Bayern’s team over the past seasons and at only 25-years-old, his best football could still be played at a club like United, should he dare to make such a bold move. The left-back has enjoyed great success with the German side but in order to test himself further, proving that he really is world-class, an attractive move to United maybe an interesting choice for the Austrian. After making 36 appearances this campaign, Alaba managed to score 2 goals as well as bagging 6 assists for his team-mates. Although predominantly he plays in the left-back position, Alaba has the ability to play as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder as well, something that would give extra incentive for United to buy due to their will to improve all those positions this summer.

The Austrian would certainly not be easy to acquire but his talent shows over the past few seasons that he is well worth the investment and would guarantee to be a huge statement to United’s league rivals ahead of next season. With Mourinho needing to win the league, Alaba could help him do exactly that.

Is Alaba the solution to United’s defensive problems… Let us know!
