Mourinho outcast to fight for Man United future despite stunning links

When Jose Mourinho was confirmed as Manchester United’s new boss last month, the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern had their excitement tempered by the fact Juan Mata’s future was suddenly cast into doubt.

Always popular, the 28-year old playmaker shares a chequered past with the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’, who infamously sold him to Old Trafford just six months into his return to Chelsea.

As a result of his arrival at the Theatre of Dreams, the plucky World Cup winner has been linked with a shock move across the North West to nouveau-riche Everton.

Having worked with new Toffees chief Ronald Koeman before, the Spaniard has been mooted as a potential marquee target at Goodison Park.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the La Roja midfielder is determined to STAY at United and fight for his place under the Portuguese, should he be given a fair crack of the whip.

Should Mata be given a fair chance at Old Trafford?
