Despite dancing on the pool tables for days on end upon his arrival over the summer, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are yet to fall fully in love with Paul Pogba.
The world’s most expensive player has struggled to find his feet back at Old Trafford amid doubts about where exactly his best position is one of the sewing motifs of his second spell with the Red Devils.
Manager Jose Mourinho seemingly has somewhat of a conundrum, having dropped skipper Wayne Rooney in order to aid the 23-year-old of late.
Aside from a decent game against Leicester City, the French powerhouse has otherwise found life rather difficult, despite all his excellence in Italy over the past few years.
Following an anonymous performance against Liverpool last night, where he was pushed up the field into a No.10 role, the Portuguese has revealed he expected more from the former Juventus man.
“I think we missed a little bit of sharpness through the middle between the positions where Pogba was”, the 53-year-old told Sky Sports (via the Manchester Evening News.)
“I was expecting a bit more of penetration and in the moment I was thinking of to play Rashford in this position behind Zlatan.”
Is Mourinho the man to get the best out of Pogba? Let us know below….
