Mourinho ready to battle Chelsea as Man United eye 23-year-old

Our Manchester United supporters parked up at the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted the side are showing signs of life under Jose Mourinho of late.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again firing, the Red Devils are keeping up the pace with the Top 4 hopefuls and the Old Trafford giants are at least showing signs of fight.

Now, thanks to reports from the Sun, it seems United could be ready for a battle on the transfer front too.

They claim Jose Mourinho is ready to battle former club Chelsea in order to bring Roma defender Antonio Rudiger to England this winter as he looks to bolster his backline.

Since recovering from a knee injury that ruled him out of Euro 2016, the 23-year-old has been in mightily impressive form for the Serie A titans, reportedly attracting the interest of both United and Chelsea.

Mourinho has stumbled upon a seemingly solid central defensive partnership in the shape of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones, though neither Daley Blind or Chris Smalling seem to really have his trust this term.

Would Rudiger fit in best at United or Chelsea? Let us know below…
