Manchester United and Arsenal fans are having to be separated by the landlord in the Transfer Tavern this evening, amid news Jose Mourinho is considering a shock summer swoop for Gunners ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The former Southampton youngster hasn’t reached the levels expected since arriving at the Emirates Stadium as a teenager in 2011, making just ten Premier League starts so far this season, and not all of The Tavern’s Arsenal punters will be particularly disappointed to see him leave this summer.
But the vast majority are worried by Mirror Football’s claims that he could end up signing for their bitter divisional rivals Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho seemingly a big fan of the England international.
Indeed, it’s claimed Mourinho is keen to bolster his midfield and wide options this summer and the versatile youngster is seen as a signing who can address both areas, although Willian and Nemanja Matic would be the former Chelsea gaffer’s first choice of targets for each respective position.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly now on Mourinho’s summer wishlist as the Red Devils plot a £30million bid, much to the delight of our United patrons – who reckon Arsene Wenger hasn’t been able to get the best out of the stocky hotshot.
