Well, thanks to Brazilian outlet UOL Esportathe fans in tonight have been greeted with one of the most blockbuster levels of rumours so far.

They claim that Jose Mourinho is set to lead new side Manchester United into a fierce transfer battle with former charges Chelsea in a £38m battle to land Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.

The Brazilian is one of the most highly rated defensive prospects in the game, though has struggled to oust the likes of David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the backline at Parc de Princes.

As a result, the former Roma star is believed to be considering his future with the Ligue 1 dominators as he bids to land more regular first-team football.

Having reportedly already rejected an offer of €40m, Les Parisians are understood to value the 22-year old at closer to €50m, which roughly equates to £38m.

Barcelona are also believed to retain an interest, with the player said to dreaming of a move to Spain, though the financial might of the Premier League could prove difficult for the Catalan’s to contend with.
