Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see what changes Jose Mourinho could make this summer and another defensive recruit is being targeted.
With the Portuguese boss having already splashed £30m to bring Eric Bailly in from Villarreal, Gianluca Di Marzio has stated Monaco full-back Fabinho is next on Mourinho’s Manchester United wish-list.
The 22-year-old excelled for the French principality side last season, scoring six goals from the right-side of defence, and these performances have seen Mourinho express interest in the Brazilian, who has earned four caps for his nation.
However, Manchester United could face immense competition in the market as Barcelona are also eyeing a swoop for the full-back, as they seek a replacement for veteran defender Dani Alves, who is widely expected to seal a move to Juventus.
With United unable to offer Champions League football, they may find it difficult to land the player’s services and our landlord believes Barcelona is the choice Fabinho should make.
