Comments from Jose Mourinho have filled Man United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern with confidence as he has reportedly told friends to expect an £80m summer signing at Old Trafford.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, United’s new boss has confidently told friends to expect an £80m signing this summer, in reference to France and Juventus star, Paul Pogba, who left the club on a free transfer four years ago.
The French international has gone from strength to strength since leaving Manchester in 2012, with four Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia wins under his belt.
The 23-year-old, who scored in France’s 5-2 demolition of Iceland on Sunday, has offered the United fans at the bar even more hope by unfollowing his current club on Twitter.
According to the Daily Mail, the powers that be at Man United, who seem more than happy to spend every penny available to them in order to avoid another season of despair, are set to offer the midfielder wages of £250,000 per week to tempt him back to the club.
The deal, however, will have to wait until after this summer’s European Championships, as France are now awaiting a semi-final tie with Germany, should they fail to make it any further though, Mourinho will want the deal finalised as quickly as possible.
