The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited for the new campaign for the first time in what seems like years as Jose Mourinho aims to win the Premier League title.
With the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ renowned for delivering a league crown in his second season with new employers, there’s a real optimism burning amongst our resident Red Devils. Indeed, even more so now, following reports from the Daily Record.
They claim the Portuguese has identified a new left-back as his next main targets, due to the fact he’s reportedly keen on deploying wing-backs next term. Not usually associated with such a formation, they’ve become a trend in English football and Mourinho is believed to be keen.
That being said, an option on the left is now thought to be of paramount importance. Tottenham’s Danny Rose – one of the best in the league – is said to be a target at Old Trafford and recently hit headlines with his frank interview about life in north London.
Having hinted he could move back north, the former Leeds United youngster is claimed to have encouraged United’s potential overtures in this report, much to the delight of our United-mad punters.
Signing Rose would be huge for United. One of the best left-backs in Europe, landing him would give Mourinho’s side far more balance, while weakening a title rival.
With Antonio Valencia bombing up and down the other side, Rose would be a huge arrival at the Theatre of Dreams.
