To the punters in the Transfer Tavern, Phil Jones has seemingly been weighed down by the upward trajectory predicted by him Sir Alex Ferguson a few years ago.
Since signing from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, the England international has shown flashes of brilliance with the Red Devils, though has struggled to show he is worthy of such high praise often enough.
With the club set to enter an exciting new era under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho, it appears the 24-year old has now hit rock bottom.
And we’re not talking about his blonde highlights.

He struggled in the 4-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund over in China, a performance only made better by the outing of Marcos Rojo, who replaced him, in the second half.
To that end, the Argentine defender is reportedly another who faces an uncertain future under the Portuguese tactician.
