Mourinho weighing up big summer move for striker to help assist Ibra

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting fireworks to finish their maiden campaign under Jose Mourinho, as they battle for a top-four finish and success in the Europa League.

The fans are expecting a busy transfer window this summer as Mourinho looks to build a side capable of challenging for the Premier League next summer, with reports now suggesting he’s entering the race for a highly-coveted striker.

Spanish outlet Don Balon state the Portuguese boss is interested in Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who looks set to vacate the capital after a disappointing return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid activated a buy-back clause in Morata’s deal with Juventus last summer to bring the striker back to the Spanish capital but he’s seen first-team opportunities severely limited, leading him to target an exit.

The Premier League could be a destination for Morata, with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte also keen on the striker, but the emergence of Manchester United in the market could cause issues for other sides.

Our landlord wonders what this means for United’s pursuit of Antoine Griezmann though, as he can’t see two high-profile strikers fitting into the squad.

Where would Morata fit-in at Old Trafford? Let us know in the comments below!
