Mourinho won over by forward as new Man United contract edges closer

Though, as ever, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are chanting Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s name as he continues to impress, some interesting reports have come out from the Sun today.

While the Swedish superstar striker is clearly the main man at Old Trafford right now, our United-mad punters have been waxing poetic about a certain Marcus Rashford. The England international has had to take a backseat to the 35-year-old of late, though recent reports have had the fans in the bar in good spirits.

They claim the 19-year-old is set for a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams as Jose Mourinho attempts to keep the England international at the club until 2021. He’s said to have won over the Portuguese with his fleeting performances in the first-team, as well as training.

He only penned a new deal at Old Trafford, where he burst onto the scene little under a year ago in the summer, in the summer, though is believed to be in line for bumper fresh terms.

As you can imagine, this has gone down very well with the Man United supporters in the Tavern, who view Rashford as the future.
