Back to winning ways, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dissecting their weekend victory over Leicester City with smiles on their faces.
Despite beating the champions of England with relative ease, one of the major topics of conversation has been the decision taken by Jose Mourinho to drop Wayne Rooney.
The 30-year-old’s absence from the starting lineup appeared to have a positive effect on the Red Devils, with Paul Pogba finally able to impose himself on the game.
Whether or not his axing is the beginning of the end for the England skipper remains to be seen, though according to the Daily Express, the former Everton prodigy is taken the matter on the chin.
They claim Rooney has no plans to quit Old Trafford and fully intends to see out the remaining two years of his deal, with the option for a third.
He reportedly has little intention of bailing out and leaving for the MLS or Chinese Super League and accepts he has to deal with squad rotation.
There is believed to be little problem between himself and Jose Mourinho, with the two remaining on good terms despite his dropping.
How important is Rooney to Man United?
